Chris Horne Balcones Land Co

REAL ESTATE & MARKETING

A 9th generation Texan, Chris Horne grew up in a farming family with deep roots in South Texas. Driving tractors before he could drive a car. Chris’ respect for the land developed at a young age and fuels his passion to preserve it — making it accessible for more to enjoy.

Chris’ 20+ year career in real estate, and experience in selling and development began early, while earning his degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. Chris has extensive sale/lease experience in every asset class of residential and commercial real estate. Chris also benefits from having a successful 15+ year career in the hospitality industry creating, owning and managing experiential food & beverage concepts across Texas.

As a Managing Partner for Balcones Land Co., Chris’ responsibilities include real estate & development oversight, investor relations, and overseeing insurance, legal, PR & marketing strategies.

Chris resided in Austin for 22 years, and now enjoys calling the Hill Country home. During his time in Austin he observed its exponential growth and evolution, something he is starting to now see first hand in the Hill Country. Chris and his wife Brandi enjoy spending time outdoors at their ranch with their dogs, horses and llamas as well as time in the Rocky Mountains.

CHRIS HORNE

CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Running around with a plastic hammer and tape measure, David Gedalia’s love of building as a child propelled him to a successful career in construction.

With over 20 years of expertise in new construction and renovation, David has overseen the development of 100,000s of multi-family units in 12 states and managed well over 100 million dollars in construction projects.

At Balcones Land Co., David is a Managing Partner, overseeing and executing all aspects of development projects from acquisition, planning, zoning, disposition, road and utility design, engineering, and construction. He’s skilled at coordinating with local and state municipalities to ensure projects are approved and built to code requirements.

A proud first-generation Texan and American, David’s experience growing up with very little and watching his parents work hard to create a wonderful life proved to him that honesty, hard work, and perseverance pay off — a motto he lives by daily.

In his free time, David enjoys fly fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast and hiking with his wife Marissa and sons Liam & Jonah in Colorado.

DAVID GEDALIA

FINANCE & BANKING

Aric Denton grew up on the Four Aces Ranch Southeast of San Antonio, where he had a full-time job on his family’s land at the age of eight. The lessons he learned on the ranch still drive his work ethic today — “Be willing to hoe all day, take lunch in the field, hoe all afternoon in the heat, and hoe into the night if that’s what it takes!”

Aric brings a background in financial strategy, commercial banking, and managerial finance, receiving his MBA with a focus in Finance from St. Edward’s University. An entrepreneur himself, Aric has maintained a successful fractional CFO practice, advising middle-market companies with combined annual revenue of over $100 million.

At Balcones Land Co., Aric serves as Managing Partner and CFO. He handles all financial aspects of the company, including banking and equity capital sourcing. Aric evaluates development strategies and utilizes data to remain forward-looking, identifying opportunities early and mitigating investor risks.

Aric lives in Austin and enjoys spending time on the water. During college, he ran a water ski and wake board school in Austin before starting a family with his wife, Ali, daughters, Margaret & Emma and son Wells.
